Tim DeLaughter
Tim DeLaughter is a Texas-based musician known for his ambitious, trailblazing approach to the many creative projects he’s worked on throughout his 30+ year career.
As the founder of The Polyphonic Spree, a 20+ member psychphonic rock ensemble, and the ‘90s psychedelic rock band Tripping Daisy, his work has always been larger than life – built on grand arrangements, powerful live performances, emotional depth, and an uplifting energy of hope and optimism.
Though never driven by the mainstream, his unwavering commitment to bold, original approaches in writing, arranging, and performing has consistently set him apart, leading to extraordinary recognition and opportunities.
Personally invited by David Bowie to join his Reality Tour, nominated for an Emmy for his work on United States of Tara, and sought out by the creators of Scrubs for a featured performance on the show, his music has been widely recognized and appreciated – earning a place at the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize Concert, in Oscar-winning films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Big Short, and across a wide range of other creative, commercial, and cultural projects around the globe.
Expanding on his creative vision, Tim recently launched his latest project, Resolution: A Cinephonic Rhapsody for the Soul, an immersive dome-theater film experience that brings to life the heartfelt, hopeful music of The Polyphonic Spree’s latest release, Salvage Enterprise.
With each project, Tim continues to create work that is artistically rich and universally resonant, forging a rare and enduring connection with audiences through meaningful, boundary-pushing art.
